Wesley R. Newman passed away at his home in Haysville, Kan., surrounded by his family Sunday, July 24, 2011, after a long battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry D. and Jeanette L. Newman, and his brother, Michael D. Newman.

He leaves behind his adoring wife, Leona Newman; his loving children, Aaron W. Newman of Boise, Idaho, Christian (Elizabeth) Newman of Wichita, Kan., and Candace J. Newman of Haysville, Kan.; six grandchildren, Wesley, Raymond, Shiloh, Kristen, Katie and CJ; and one great-grandson, Aiden. He will also be missed by his sisters, Kristine S. (Gary) Le Mond of Altadena, Calif., and Karen J. (Stephen) Goff of Augusta, Ga.; his brother, Eric D. (MaryAnn) Newman of Pocatello; four nieces, Erica, Stephanie, Karen and Jennifer; four nephews, Heath, Michael, Jeffrey and Jason; five great-nieces, Shawna, Shauna, Abby, Kiley and Lucy; and one great-nephew, Joey; as well as numerous friends.

He was a graduate of Idaho Falls High School, where he excelled in track. Wesley was an avid fly-fisherman and a published, world-renowned fly-tier.
